ROJB launching workshop concludes with valedictory function in Dimapur

DIMAPUR

The two-day launching workshop of the Resource Organization on Jhum and Biodiversity (ROJB), organized by the Nagaland Forest Management Project, concluded with a valedictory function held at Hotel Acacia, Dimapur, on September 24.
According to a DIPR report, conducted under the theme “Northeastern Regional Workshop on Jhum Management and Ecological Stewardship,” the programme brought together experts, officials and stakeholders to deliberate on sustainable Jhum cultivation, biodiversity conservation and livelihood enhancement in Nagaland.
Livelihood Expert, ROJB, Dr. Aosanen Ao, presented a comprehensive summary of the workshop, outlining key discussions and proposed strategies for advancing Jhum management and ecological sustainability.
Delivering the closing remarks, Principal Chief Conservator of Forests (PCCF) and Chief Wildlife Warden, Nagaland, Vedpal Singh, emphasized the need for credible, evidence-based research to inform policy decisions. He urged ROJB to undertake meta-analyses and produce substantive research outputs that highlight the sustainability of traditional practices and influence decision-makers. Singh also encouraged the organization to set clear, impactful goals that translate into transformative outcomes on the ground.
The valedictory session was compered by community mobilization expert ROJB, Dr. Imnuksungla Pongen. A vote of thanks was delivered by CEO of ROJB, Dr. Prabhat Kumar, who expressed appreciation to all participants, experts and stakeholders for their active engagement and contributions.
