The Nagaland Wrestling Association (NWA) conducted its Selection Trial on September 25, at Pele Stadium, Rüziezou, D. Khel, Kohima Village. The trial aimed to identify top athletes to represent Nagaland at the upcoming All India Traditional Wrestling & Pankration Federation (AITWPF) Selection Trial, scheduled for October 4 and 5 in New Delhi.
Athletes selected from the AITWPF trial will go on to represent India at two major international events: the UWW World Belt Wrestling Championship 2025 and the inaugural World Naga Wrestling Championship 2025, both slated to be held from November 15 to 23 in Kohima.
The inaugural programme was chaired by vice president (General) NWA, Viketouzo Meyase. Youth Director of Zeme Baptist Church Kohima, Suiteigongle Zeliang, led the invocation, followed by a presidential address from president of NWA, Vivolie Kezo. Technical Secretary, Vekhriyi Chuzho administered the oath to participating athletes.
