A village road and footpath constructed under the Entry Point Activity (EPA) component of the Nagaland Forest Management Project (NFMP) was inaugurated at Gwachonlo village (Batch-IV under Tseminyu) on September 27 by Divisional Forest Officer (DFO) Kohima and DMU Head, Dr. Sevono Seletsu.
Addressing the community, Dr. Seletsu termed the inauguration a milestone for the village and urged residents to maintain the EPA infrastructure with care, as it was created for the collective benefit of the community. She also lauded the collaborative efforts of the Village Council and Joint Forest Management Committee (JFMC), stating that the achievement reflected their unity.
The DFO briefed villagers on the objectives of NFMP and encouraged them to take ownership of project activities to ensure its success.
Village Council member Thepfuruja Khing and GB Loshubu Khing expressed gratitude for the project, which fulfilled a long-standing need of the village.
The programme was attended by Range Forest Officer and Field Management Unit Head, Tseminyu, Yhuntilo Kent, Gwachonlo JFMC chairman, Ahyun S Kath, and village members.
