CorrespondentMOKOKCHUNG, SEP 28 (NPN)

A heavy thunderstorm that lashed Mokokchung town and adjoining areas on Friday night uprooted two decades-old Silver Oak trees, damaging power lines and blocking a road in Upper Penli ward.
Fortunately, no residential structures or properties were affected. Officials from Mokokchung Municipal Council (MMC), led by chairman Imkongchuba, along with personnel from the department of Power, conducted on-the-spot verification. Power supply was restored by Saturday afternoon following clearance and repair works.
