The Nagaland University Kohima Campus (NUKC) hosted the grand finale of the Associate Dean’s Cup 2025 (ADSW Cup 2025) on September 26 at the University playground, marking the culmination of a spirited sporting event held under the theme “Breaking Barriers”.
Team Education and Teacher Education clinched the championship title, while the runners-up position was secured by Team Management and Electronics & Communication Engineering.
Special recognitions were awarded as follows: Best Discipline Team by Department of History & Archaeology and Psychology; Best Player: Chingkam, Department of Education; Best Keeper: Abinath Konthoujam, Department of Management; Highest Scorer: Matemshiba I. Jamir, Department of History & Archaeology; Best Defender: Tokwang, Department of Education.
The closing ceremony commenced with the University anthem, followed by a keynote address from Pro-Vice-Chancellor (PVC) of NUKC, Prof. N. Venuh. Prof. Venuh commended the organising committee for fostering unity through sports and highlighted the event’s success in promoting togetherness and overall wellbeing. He expressed optimism that the initiative would continue to grow in future editions for the betterment of the University.
Sports Secretary Phuyeka P. Yeptho introduced the finalist teams, and the championship match was officially kicked off by the PVC. The programme was chaired by Lhinghoivah Vahsi Handshing, with an invocation by Mhonthung Kikon and a special musical performance by Eshak Konyak.
The ceremony also featured a song presentation by Mhasilhoukhonuo, an expression of gratitude led by Vitsürieno Meyase, and a vote of thanks delivered by Shalo Kent. The event concluded with a benediction by T. Lingcholi Sangtam.
Earlier in the day, an exhibition match was held between the Nagaland University Students’ Union (NUSU) and the Nagaland University Research Scholars’ Forum, Kohima (NURSF-K), with NURSF-K emerging victorious.
The ADSW Cup 2025 Organising Committee extended its sincere appreciation to the University authority, sponsors and the NUKC community for their support in making the event a resounding success.
