In view of the upcoming road and side drainage construction from Police Point to Molonsu Colony Junction, Deputy Commissioner Wokha has issued traffic regulations to be enforced from October 1, 2025, for a period of two months.
According to DIPR report, the measures are aimed at ensuring public safety, smooth traffic flow, and discipline during the construction period.
Key directives include:
Complete Road Closure: The stretch from Police Point to DC Office Junction will remain fully closed to facilitate uninterrupted construction. Commuters are advised to use the DPO Office road as an alternate route to access the DC Office.
One-Way Traffic Regulation: The road from DPO Office to Molonsu Junction will function as a one-way route. Vehicles will exit via PwD Junction and Molonsu Junction. Those approaching from the hospital side must divert through the GHSS road.
Loading and Unloading Restrictions: Commercial loading and unloading along the affected route will be permitted only between 4 pm and 7 am. No halting for such activities will be allowed between 7 am and 4 pm.
- Removal of Encroachments:
All unauthorized stalls, structures, construction materials, and unused vehicles from Police Point Junction to Molonsu Junction must be cleared immediately to avoid obstruction to construction works.
The district administration has appealed to residents, commuters, and business establishments to strictly comply with the regulations to ensure timely completion of the project.
