Bharat Sanchar Nigam Limited (BSNL) celebrated its Silver Jubilee at Hotel Saramati, Dimapur on Tuesday, marking 25 years of service to the nation since its inception on October 1, 2000.
Chief General Manager, NE-II Telecom Circle, N. Murali (ITS), in his address, highlighted BSNL’s journey from the early days of landline and STD booths to today’s indigenous 4G services. He said BSNL has always stood at the forefront during natural calamities, ensuring uninterrupted communication. Stressing on the organisation’s core values, Murali said, “BSNL represents not just business but service and innovation. With our dedicated manpower, we continue to bridge the digital divide across the nation” he added.
He also noted the launch of BSNL’s indigenous 4G services across India, inaugurated by the Prime Minister on September 27, 2025. In the NE-II Circle, comprising Arunachal Pradesh, Manipur and Nagaland, 1,000 towers have already been commissioned while another 969 are under progress.
Other speakers included K. Sajal (IP&TAFS), Jt. CCA; Dilip Siram (ITS), PGM; and Sandeep Bhardwaj (ITS), DDG. The welcome address was delivered by Omega R. Marak (ITS), PGM.
The cultural segment featured an Angami Naga folk song by Meyacalie, a special number by Moajungla Jamir, dance by Shrestha Dey and an Ao Naga folk dance by the Aohadang Cultural Club. The programme also included prize distribution and concluded with a vote of thanks by Mukesh Meena (ITS), GM.
To commemorate the Silver Jubilee, BSNL employees across NE-II Circle also engaged in community service, tree plantation, cultural programmes, and customer outreach events including rallies, roadshows and customer meets.
