11 cadets from Sainik School Punglwa clear UPSC NDA written examination

DIMAPUR

In a landmark achievement, Sainik School Punglwa has recorded its highest-ever success in the Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) National Defence Academy (NDA) written examination, with 11 cadets—five from the current batch and six from previous batches clearing the prestigious test.
The cadets are current batch – Cdt Vide Paul Rhetso, Cdt Cidibe Peter Mbung, Cdt Anshik Yadav, Cdt Dev Dagar and Cdt Sahil. Senior batch – Cdt Urjit Singh, Cdt Himanshu Kumar, Cdt Nirbhay Kumar, Cdt Gopal Jee Kumar, Cdt Golu Kumar, Cdt Ish Dwivedi.
This unprecedented accomplishment marks a proud moment for the institution and the state of Nagaland, reflecting the school’s growing legacy in preparing young aspirants for careers in the Armed Forces.
The cadets’ success is attributed to their discipline, dedication and the rigorous academic and military-oriented training imparted by the school.
Principal Col (Dr) Smita Misra, along with staff and fellow cadets, extended heartfelt congratulations to the successful candidates.
She described the achievement as a historic milestone not only for the students but also for the school and the state. She also acknowledged the unwavering support of parents and expressed gratitude to the Local Board of Administration (LBA) for their continued encouragement.
“This achievement is a testament to the relentless efforts of our faculty and mentors who have guided the cadets throughout their journey,” said Col (Dr) Misra. “It will undoubtedly inspire more youth from Nagaland to pursue careers in the Armed Forces.”
