Fixtures announced for 9th Capt N. Kengurüse Trophy

DIMAPUR, OCT 3 (NPN)

The match fixtures and draw of lots for the 9th edition of the Capt N. Kengurüse, MVC Memorial Football Tournament 2025 were officially announced at Chieswema, Kohima district. The announcement was made by Assam Rifles in collaboration with the Nagaland Football Association (NFA), under the aegis of Operation Sadbhavana, Spear Corps.
The fixture release event was graced by president of the Nagaland Football Association, K. Neibu Sekhose, alongside the head of coaches and head of referees. Media partners and members of the press were present, while team representatives from participating districts joined the proceedings via video conferencing.
Scheduled to take place from October 22 to November 6, 2025, at the Indira Gandhi Stadium, Kohima, the tournament will feature 20 teams representing various districts of Nagaland. A total of 20 matches will be played, with daily fixtures set for 10 AM and 12 PM, interspersed with designated rest days. The third-place playoff is slated for November 5, followed by the Grand Finale on November 6. With a prize pool of Rs. 6.5 lakhs, the tournament aims to foster sportsmanship, discipline and youth engagement, while paying tribute to the courage and ultimate sacrifice of Capt N. Kengurüse, MVC.
