State Agricultural Management and Extension Training Institute (SAMETI) conducted a five-day training programme on “Re-visiting Strategic Research and Extension Plan (SREP) of ATMA 2026–2030” from September 22 to 26 at SAMETI, Medziphema.
The inaugural programme was graced by director of Agriculture & State Nodal Officer (ATMA), Nagaland, Kohima, Sanuzo Nienu. Resource persons from Extension Education Institute (EEI), NE Region, Khanapara, Guwahati, and School of Agricultural Science (SAS), Nagaland University, facilitated sessions covering key topics such as SREP methodology, participatory rural appraisal (PRA), farming systems, policy considerations, extension strategies, human resource development, marketing, and post-harvest technologies. As part of the training, participants undertook a field visit to Ruzaphema village for a PRA exercise. T
he inaugural session was chaired by SAMETI deputy Project Director (DPD), Tiajungla, while the vote of thanks was delivered by DPD Janet Chishi. The valedictory programme was chaired by DPD Akam Zeliang, with the keynote address delivered by director SAMETI and principal IETC, Medziphema, Bodevi Shuya. Participants shared feedback on the training and certificates were distributed.
A total of 46 participants attended the programme, including Project Directors from all districts of Nagaland.
