CorrespondentMOKOKCHUNG, OCT 9 (NPN)

Chungtia Students’ Union (CSU) Thursday served an ultimatum health & family welfare (H&FW) department over the technical test report on setting up of 50-bedded Integrated AYUSH Hospital at Sabangya under Mokokchung district.
In an ultimatum addressed to principal director H&FW, CSU convener Zaongtoshi and president Tsuknungtemsu expressed dissatisfaction with the technical test report dated September 29, issued through the executive engineer, medical engineering division, Kohima. CSU said the report, in its current form, was incomplete and totally unsatisfactory. The union noted that the test result on a structural beam was marked as “poor and doubtful,” adding that the concrete core compressive strength lacked clear and substantiated justification.
“This raises serious concerns about the quality of work and reflects unprofessional conduct on the part of Northeast Engineers,” CSU stated.
Further, CSU reminded of the September 11, 2025 agreement to have a joint follow-up meeting among CSU, Chungtia village council, KC Infra Projects Pvt. Ltd., and representatives of the department once the test results were available. However, it said that even after more than nine days since the report was issued, no initiative has been taken by the department to organize the joint meeting.
CSU said multiple attempts made to communicate with principal director’s office had gone unanswered, and no official correspondence has been received from till date.
Therefore, CSU has served a 5-day ultimatum on the department for immediate and necessary action. Failing which, the union cautioned it would be compelled to initiate its own course of action, for which the union would not be deemed liable for any consequences.
