NSF Trophy: Kuki United, ALT march into QFs

The pre-quarter finals of the ongoing 25th NSF Martyrs’ Memorial Trophy witnessed thrilling performances at the IG Stadium, Kohima on Thursday, as Kuki United and Anal Lenruwl Tangpi (ALT) registered convincing victories to advance to the quarter-final stage.
In the 7th pre-quarter final match, Kuki United displayed remarkable coordination and control on the field, defeating Delhi Police 2–0. Both goals for the team came from their striker, Lunaldo Kuki (No.77), who found the back of the net in the 23rd and 48th minutes, sealing his team’s progression to the next round.
For his exceptional performance, Lunaldo Kuki was adjudged the Player of the Match and received the award from Neisavotuo Whuorie, vice president, Angami Sports Association (ASA). The match patron was Ketoulhou Metha, OSD, Finance Department.
In the last pre-quarter final clash, Anal Lenruwl Tangpi showcased a dominant display against Nagaland Police, clinching a 3–0 victory. The team maintained steady pressure throughout the match, with Kagaly (No.30) opening the scoring in first-half injury time (45+3 min). The lead was extended in the second half through Winkle (No.11) in the 61st minute, followed by a late strike from Changkingam (No.9) in the 90th minute, sealing the win in emphatic fashion.
The match patron was Vimhalie Pienyü, Councillor, Kohima Municipal Council. Winkle (No.11) of Anal Lenruwl Tangpi was named the Player of the Match and received the award from the match patron.
With these results, both Kuki United and Anal Lenruwl Tangpi have secured their places in the quarter-finals, keeping their championship hopes alive as the tournament narrows down towards the finale.
