The 3rd edition of the Inter-Departmental Sports Meet 2025 concluded on Tuesday at the Indoor Badminton Stadium, Mokokchung. The closing ceremony was chaired by principal of Mokokchung College of Teachers Education (MCTE), Dr. T. Alemla Longkumer.
Chief Medical Officer (Retired), Dr. Sentizungla Marina Yaden, graced the occasion as special invitee and emphasized the importance of sustaining sportsmanship and inter-departmental cooperation.
A total of 950 participants—633 men and 317 women competed across eight disciplines: Athletics, Chess, Carrom, Table Tennis, Arm Wrestling, Badminton, Penalty Shoot-out (Men), and Futsal (Men). Following a series of spirited contests, the Health & Family Welfare Department emerged as the overall champion with 87 points, while the Police Department secured the runner-up position with 78 points.
At the programme, invocation was offered by pastor of Police Baptist Church, Mokokchung, L. Temjen and a musical performance by the Class of Music.
District Project Officer, Social Welfare, Imliyanger, presented the tournament report, and SDO (Civil), Temsüchuba, delivered the vote of thanks.
