Mishra meets Muivah ahead of Somdal visit

DIMAPUR, OCT 17 (NPN)

With hectic preparations underway for NSCN (I-M) ato kilonser Th. Muivah’s proposed visit to his native village Somdal in Manipur’s Ukhrul district for the first time in 60 years, Government of India’s representative for Naga peace talks, A.K. Mishra, met Muivah in Dimapur on October 15.
According to highly placed sources, Mishra arrived in Dimapur on October 14 and met Muivah primarily in connection with his forthcoming visit. Sources said the Government of India is “favourably considering” Muivah’s visit to Somdal.
Muivah, 91, had left his village in 1964 to join the Naga movement. He is expected to reach Ukhrul on October 22 before proceeding to Somdal. He is also scheduled to visit Senapati.
