Tumcho Tutu releases debut single ‘In Your House’

Kohima-based singer and songwriter, Tumchobeni Tsopoe, popularly known by her stage name Tumcho Tutu, has officially released her debut single titled “In Your House”, a deeply personal gospel-themed song accompanied by a music video.
An emerging artiste in Nagaland’s growing contemporary music scene, Tumcho Tutu has drawn attention for her soulful and distinct vocals that leave a lasting impression on listeners. In her debut release, she reflects on themes of faith, dependence on God’s providence, and the search for comfort through God’s love.
Having completed her Master’s in Medical Allied Sciences, Tutu has now set out on a musical journey to explore the potential and opportunities that Nagaland’s music industry has to offer. Over the years, she has become a familiar face on stage, performing at various cultural, social and sporting events across the state, delivering songs in both English and her vernacular language.
Speaking about her creative influences, the young artiste cited gospel, R&B, soul, and jazz as her main inspirations, describing her music as a blend that moves from heartfelt worship to raw reflections on personal struggles. Tutu has also performed at several major festivals across Northeast India, steadily building her reputation as one of the region’s promising new voices. With “In Your House”, she marks a new chapter in her artistic career—one she described as both spiritually grounding and emotionally expressive.
Growing up in a family of four siblings, with three brothers, she shared that her family has been a strong source of encouragement throughout her musical journey. She revealed that she has recently been exploring songwriting more seriously, finding it both exciting and self-improving.
She credits her mother as her source of inspiration which got her into singing at an early age which gradually grew into a passion over the years.
Through her performances and compositions, Tumcho Tutu aims to inspire, comfort, and connect with listeners from all walks of life. Her debut single “In Your House” touches on the theme of God’s unwavering help during times of mental distress and emotional turmoil, offering a message of hope and reassurance.
