NSUM celebrates 27th Fresher’s Meet-cum-Cultural Day in Mizoram

Naga Students’ Union Mizoram (NSUM) celebrated its 27th Naga Fresher’s Meet-cum-Cultural Day on October 18 at the Art & Culture Auditorium, Berawtlang, under the theme “Empowerment through Unity.”
According to a press release issued by NSUM, the event brought together members of the Naga community residing in Mizoram. Commissioner & Secretary, Higher & Technical Education and Health & Family Welfare, Pu H. Lalengmawia, graced the occasion as chief guest, while PF. Adani Chachei, Manager, FCI (Genl), attended as guest speaker.
The celebration featured a vibrant array of cultural performances, including traditional plays, folk songs, and displays of traditional attire representing various Naga tribes. The youth showcased their creativity by blending cultural heritage with contemporary expressions, earning appreciation from the audience.
A key highlight of the event was the formal introduction and warm welcome of freshers into the community. NSUM president Nchebui Zeliang delivered the welcome address. Toshiyangba Imchen and Watisenla Jamir, both from Mizoram University, were crowned Mr & Miss Freshers NSUM 2025.
