Nagaland Kezha elected Kedahge; NNC/FGN installs new team

DIMAPUR

Naga National Council (NNC) and Federal Government of Nagaland (FGN) held its Tatar Hoho Session on October 10 at Oking, Kohima, during which a new team of office bearers was elected and subsequently installed.
According to a statement from the Ministry of Information and Publicity (MIP), the session marked a historic moment as the position of Kedahge (President) was contested for the first time in FGN’s history. Kezha Angami was democratically elected as Kedahge.
Other key positions were filled unopposed, with Thangou Khiamniugan appointed as Kedallo, Kenyuseng Kemp as speaker, and H. Lushing as deputy speaker of the Tatar Hoho.
Following the elections, the newly elected Kedahge and Tatars formally installed the new team of FGN functionaries on October 23 at Oking, Kohima.
The new appointments include Gen. (Retd.) Viyalie Metha as advisor to FGN, LhouvitsĂĽ Kesiezie as Nsa Midan (chief justice), V. Phutoi Zhimomi as Kilo Kilonser (home minister), Capt. (Retd.) Yirei Lungleng as Rali Wali Kilonser (Information and Publicity), Akho Meru as Alee cum Infrastructure and Development Kilonser, KekhwechĂĽ Lasuh as deputy chaplee kilonser (deputy finance), Pretso Khutso as Homaki Kilonser (education), and DazĂĽ Ramai as Shenta Kilonser (communication).
