Nagaland Transparency Public Rights Advocacy and Direct Action Organisation (NTPRADAO) has expressed strong solidarity with the Joint Coordination Committee (JCC) on IAS induction, pledging 200 active volunteers to support the committee’s ongoing demand.
In a statement, NTPRADAO: vice president Zuchamo Patton; secretary general Ikato Zhimomi; central executive member Temjen Mar Ao and general secretary Tumbeni Kithan urged JCC to continue its pen-down strike, claiming that 85-90% of Nagaland’s citizens support the movement though many are hesitant to speak out due to fear of repercussions.
The organisation also appreciated JCC’s timely and wise decision to put on hold the proposed tools-down strike scheduled from October 27. Further, it lauded and congratulated the All Nagaland Government Drivers’ Association, Nagaland Civil Secretariat Drivers’ Association, All Nagaland Directorate & District Government Drivers’ Union, and Nagaland Civil Secretariat Grade-IV Staff Employees Association for extending full support to the common cause.
NTPRADAO appealed to these organisations to remain vigilant and continue contributing towards the success of the JCC’s demand.
At the same time, NTPRADAO criticised Eastern Naga Students’ Federation (ENSF) for calling for withdrawal of the pen-down strike.
It reminded ENSF that India is a democratic country where every citizen has the right to voice grievances and fight for justice, and urged the federation to confine itself to student-related issues within its jurisdiction.
The organisation stressed that high offices such as the IAS and other administrative systems exist for public service and must remain free from nepotism, favouritism, or personal interest. It cautioned that such practices erode public trust and weaken the State’s institutional framework.
Reaffirming its support, NTPRADAO urged JCC to stand firm with faith and conviction to ensure that only constitutionally valid and merit-based candidates selected through the NPSC are empanelled, and that all backdoor or regularised appointees be withdrawn.
