Langsa Hill FC wrapped up their Kengurüse Trophy campaign in emphatic fashion, crushing Lüshe FC 7–0 in the third-place playoff to claim the 2nd runner-up title with a display of sheer attacking dominance and precision at IG Stadium, Kohima on Wednesday.
From the first whistle, Langsa Hill took control of proceedings, dictating play with nearly 64% possession and applying relentless pressure inside the opposition’s half. The breakthrough came almost immediately in the 3rd minute, when Eshong calmly slotted home to open the scoring and set the tone for what would become a one-sided encounter.
Langsa’s offensive rhythm only intensified as Vinato produced a remarkable four-goal performance, showcasing his composure and finishing prowess. His first goal arrived in the 30th minute, followed by Eshong’s second strike just three minutes later to double the lead. Vinato then struck again in the 38th minute, giving Langsa Hill a commanding advantage before halftime.
The second half saw no respite for Lüshe FC as Langsa continued to surge forward. David extended the lead in the 51st minute, and Vinato completed his extraordinary haul with goals in the 57th and 88th minutes, sealing a comprehensive victory that underlined Langsa’s superior quality and tactical discipline.
Statistically, the performance was as dominant as it appeared on the field — 13 shots on target to Lüshe’s 4, and another 20 efforts off target, reflecting Langsa’s relentless attacking intent. Their high pressing and sharp movement left Lüshe FC struggling to maintain shape and contain the waves of pressure.
With the emphatic win, Langsa Hill FC concluded their tournament on a high note, cementing their reputation as one of the most entertaining and formidable sides of the competition. The victory not only secured them a podium finish but also reaffirmed their resilience and flair after narrowly missing a place in the final.
The Kengurüse Trophy will now conclude with the grand finale between Headhunters FC and Dimapur Sporting Club, scheduled for November 6, Thursday, 2025, at 10:30 a.m., followed by the closing ceremony.
