Dr. Motsuo Memorial District Hospital (DMMDH), Wokha, held a farewell-cum-Tokhü Emong celebration on Wednesday at the hospital premises, honouring retiring staff and marking the Lotha community’s post-harvest festival.
The programme was chaired by Dr. Zechano Ezung, with invocation offered by Meribeni Ezung. A short speech on behalf of the retirees was delivered by retired chowkidar Renjamo Humtsoe, and retired female health worker, Renthunglo.
The retiring staff honoured during the occasion included senior dental surgeon Dr. Chenithung, chowkidar Renjamo Humtsoe, assistant nursing superintendent Mhonlumi, and Renthunglo (FHW).
Special songs dedicated to the farewell and Tokhü Emong were presented by Areni and Wonchibeni Humtsoe (staff nurse).
Speeches on behalf of the staff were delivered by pathologist Dr. Nzanthung Lotha , staff nurse Loreni Yanthan , and Yiboni (MA).
Medical Superintendent, Dr. N. Mhonchan Kithan, highlighted the significance of Tokhü Emong as a time-honoured tradition that celebrates the harvest season and the blessings of the land.
Vote of thanks was proposed by staff nurse Mhabeni Ezung , while benediction was pronounced by Yanchibeni Kikon (counsellor cum data manager, FI-ARTC).
The feast grace was offered by Opanglemla (nursing superintendent).
