DIMAPUR

A delegation of the Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad (ABVP) SEIL (Students’ Experience in Inter-State Living) tour called on H. Tovihoto Ayemi, MLA & advisor, tribal affairs and election department, government of Nagaland at his residence on November 6
The delegation comprising of representatives from different states and different cultural background across the country apprised Tovihoto about the objectives of their tour, which aims to promote cultural exchange and foster inter-cultural closeness among communities across India.
The MLA lauded the initiative and encouraged the team members to act as “cultural ambassadors,” spreading awareness about the country’s vast and diverse heritage.
“India is a large nation with many different cultures and religions, yet many people know little about one another despite living together under one nation,” he said.
Emphasizing the role of youth in strengthening national unity, the MLA added, “With over 60 percent of our population below the age of 35, it is the duty and responsibility of young people to educate each other, nurture communal harmony, and promote peaceful coexistence among people of varied cultures, ethnicities, and religions. Only then can India truly embody the spirit of the world’s largest democracy—where tolerance and acceptance prevail.”
The delegation expressed gratitude to the MLA & advisor for his words of encouragement and assured that they would continue working to strengthen inter-state understanding and unity through cultural engagement.
