Nagaland Divine Connection releases new single music video ‘On My Knees’

Renowned Christian rock band Divine Connection from Kohima marked a milestone in its musical journey with the release of its latest single music video “On My Knees” during a programme at de Oriental Grand on Monday.
Frontman and lead vocalist Obed Kath expressed gratitude to fans and the media, terming the release a special moment for the band. He noted that the audio version, released on YouTube four months ago, received overwhelming response, which encouraged the band to produce the video despite delays. Kath said it was their first single in a long time and shared plans to reach all districts of Nagaland with their music in the coming years.
Reflecting on their journey, Kath recalled Divine Connection’s formation in 2004 and its breakthrough at the National Hornbill Rock Contest in 2005, where they finished as first runner-up. Their debut album El Roi followed in 2006, earning positive feedback despite limited resources. He highlighted how digital media has transformed music promotion and affirmed that sustaining a livelihood through music is possible, citing his own two-decade career. Guitarist Mhaseve Tetseo revealed that the video was produced in collaboration with Sanen Sound Production, shot at RCEMPA with support from TAFMA, and recorded at Outloud Studio in Kohima. Kath explained that On My Knees conveys humility, gratitude, and faith, acknowledging God’s grace and blessings.
The current lineup of Divine Connection includes Obed Kath (lead vocals), Khriesazo Liezietsu (keyboard), Mhaseve Tetseo (guitar), Akum (bass), and Bendang Kichu (drums). The band announced that more original singles are in progress and will be released soon.
The release programme was attended by dignitaries including MLA Kuzholuzo (Azo) Nienu, former MLA Khriehu Liezietsu, MLA Jwenga Seb, and MLA Dr. Tseilhoutuo Rhutso, while Rev. A. Chuba Jamir invoked blessings. Formed in 2004, Divine Connection has become one of Nagaland’s most iconic bands, blending rock, jazz, funk, blues, folk, and gospel. Their achievements include winning MTV’s Rock On – Desi Beats in 2010 and performing internationally. With On My Knees, the band reaffirmed its legacy as a pioneering Christian rock act inspiring listeners through faith and resilience.
