Nagaland Pickleball announces1st-ever state team for IPA Nationals

DIMAPUR, NOV 10 (NPN)

The Nagaland Pickleball Association (NPA) has announced the first-ever Nagaland State Pickleball team that will represent the state at the upcoming IPA Nationals 2025, scheduled to be held from November 13 to 16 at The Sports School, Bengaluru.
This historic milestone marks the debut of Nagaland in national-level pickleball competition under the banner of the Indian Pickleball Association (IPA), which is recognized by the Ministry of Youth Affairs & Sports, Government of India, and the Sports Authority of India (SAI).
Selected players in men’s 30+ category are Khriemetuo Pienyu — Singles; David Murry & Tonoto Ayemi — Doubles.
In men’s open category: Zhaputso Khate — Singles; Nzamo Kikon & Imsuren Longchar — Doubles; and Menuovi Kire — Substitute.
The team will be captained by Nzamo Kikon, with Nathan Kaurinta Zeliang as team manager.
Speaking on the announcement, NPA president Nathan Zeliang congratulated the selected players and expressed confidence that the team would showcase excellence and competitive spirit on the national stage.
The announcement was celebrated as a proud moment for Nagaland’s sporting community, reflecting the growing recognition of pickleball across India. A special photo session was held to commemorate the occasion, featuring NPA leadership vice president Nisuka Khulu, general secretary Kakivi Chishi, and president Nathan Zeliang alongside the selected players.
