‘Ethical AI in Research’ training held at Nagaland University

As part of the NU–Start Up Project (2024–2026), Nagaland University (NU) organized an offline training programme on “Ethical Adoption of AI Tools in Academic Research”, led by Principal Investigator and resource person, Dr. Chanlang Ki Bareh,. The sessions were held across the Kohima and Medziphema campuses of NU, drawing participation from research scholars.
Ina press release by NU PRO, informed that the first session was held on November 6, which brought together 54 Ph.D. scholars from the School of Agricultural Sciences, while the second session held on November 7, engaged 62 Ph.D. scholars from the Schools of Humanities & Education, Engineering & Technology, and Management.
Through interactive discussions and demonstrations, Dr. Bareh explored the transformative role of Artificial Intelligence (AI) in research, from literature review and idea generation to data analysis, visualization, and academic writing. He emphasized the importance of ethical practices, academic integrity, and transparency when integrating AI tools into scholarly work. The sessions encouraged participants to reflect on how responsible use of emerging technologies can enhance the quality and credibility of academic research.
