The Chümoukedima Athletic Association conducted its official handing and taking over ceremony on November 9 under the chairmanship of Imlisunup Ao. The event marked the formal induction of Viphülie Krose as the new president of the association, succeeding Sedevikho Angami.
In his address, outgoing president Sedevikho Angami emphasized the importance of building a strong foundation for upcoming athletes in the district. He encouraged the incoming team to continue fostering a culture of discipline, unity, and long-term commitment to the growth of sports in Chümoukedima.
The new team will be led by Viphülie Krose as the president, Imlisunup Ao as vice president, Visako Angami as general secretary and other eight members.
Upon assuming office, president Viphülie Krose expressed gratitude for the trust and confidence placed in him. He stressed the importance of teamwork and collective effort, stating that the association must “move forward together as one family, nurturing sportspersons and strengthening the identity of our young district.” He also highlighted the need to develop innovative ideas to generate sustainable funding for the Association’s future activities, ensuring that its initiatives can thrive without undue dependence on external sources.
The ceremony concluded with a vote of thanks and a reaffirmation of the association’s commitment to promote athletics and nurture sporting talent across Chümoukedima district.
