Rebecca Changkija honoured with Pride of Nation Award 2025

Renowned filmmaker and social entrepreneur Rebecca Changkija Sema has been conferred the Pride of Nation Award 2025 by the National Nari Sashaktikaran Sangh. The award was presented at MP Bhavan, New Delhi, by MP Bhavna Pardhi, in recognition of Sema’s contributions to Indian cinema, women’s empowerment, and community development.
Founder of Find Studioz Production, North East Unsung Heroes Red Carpet Social Awards, and the North East India International Film Festival (NEIIF), Sema has played a key role in promoting the art and culture of Northeast India.
Expressing her gratitude, Sema said, “This honour is not just mine—it belongs to my people, my land, and my journey. I’m deeply grateful for this recognition and will continue to dedicate my work towards empowering youth and women through art and storytelling.” She recently organised the third edition of the North East India International Film Festival in Mumbai. The event has emerged as a vital platform linking the Northeast with the rest of the country, encouraging filmmakers from across the country to shoot in the region while providing artists and creators from the Northeast greater national and international exposure.
Sema’s efforts have also gained international recognition, with previous honours in the United Kingdom and South Africa for her outstanding contributions to film, culture, and social empowerment.
Currently, she is working on a documentary in Nagaland focused on preserving ancestral stories and oral traditions. With over 15 years of dedicated service to Indian cinema, cultural preservation, and social upliftment, Rebecca Changkija Sema continues to be an inspiring voice from the Northeast—bridging communities and celebrating diversity through her work.
