Nagaland Fashion Week (NFW) 2025, organised by the Nagaland Designers’ Association (NDA), wrapped up its 5th edition with an impressive display of design innovation, cultural identity, and professional engagement. The three-day event brought together designers, models, artisans, experts, and fashion enthusiasts to celebrate the evolving landscape of Naga fashion.
The event opened on Day 1 with the inauguration of 20 designer and craft stalls by Chakhesang Baptist Church, Kitsubozou, Rev. Vikuo Rhi. The runway showcased culturally rooted collections, with 45 designers presenting their work across Day 1 and Day 3, blending traditional aesthetics with modern interpretations.
Day 2 centred on industry dialogue, featuring seminars, workshops, and interactive sessions. Resource speaker Orient Processors Pvt. Ltd., Guwahati, Raj Buragohain, shared insights on textiles, industry trends, and pathways for expanding Naga fashion beyond regional markets.
The Grand Finale on Day 3 was graced by special guest chairman, TAFMA, Theja Meru, who praised the NDA for successfully hosting the 5th edition. Highlighting the potential of the industry, he noted that the global fashion market stands at ₹1.84 lakh crore and projected India’s fashion sector to reach USD 40 billion by 2030. He encouraged designers to aim for international platforms within the next three years, assuring TAFMA’s continued support.
Across the three days, 30 models walked the runway, complemented by performances from artists Thüjovelü Phesao and Jewel Reneh Sasü. The Show Parader was Mesho K. Jimo, Face of NFW 2023. The event was documented by official photographer Hopong Chang and videographer Athe Rhi, while judging duties were led by senior lecturer, Fashion Technology Department, Government Polytechnic, Kohima, Mary Puro Lorin, former senior supervisor, Retail Landmark, Dubai, Hoyili Wokhami and vice president, Nagaland Designers’ Association, Kavili Kiba Swu. The event was hosted by Miss Nagaland 2023 and Miss Grand India Nagaland 2024–2025Neiketuno Sechü.
