Cornerstone Theological College, Urra Village, organized an “Amateur Badminton Tournament Men’s Double” on Saturday to raise funds for the construction of its Chapel Hall. President, Parliamentary Affairs, Lok Janshakti Party (LJP) in-charge of Tripura and Arunachal Pradesh, Kitoho Rotokha, attended the event as chief guest.
The tournament witnessed spirited competition, with William Zeliang and Lanuyabang Imsong emerging as winners. The duo of Azikeh Sangtam and Aduzo Dozo secured the runners-up position.
In his address, Rotokha encouraged students and participants to actively engage in sports as an integral part of holistic development alongside academics. He emphasized the importance of nurturing sporting talent beyond amateur levels, noting that good sportsmanship is essential in today’s society.
The programme was compered by Chaplain of the College, Hitokali. The opening prayer was led by Principal, Dr. Inatoli K. Sema, while the event concluded with a thanksgiving prayer offered by Dr. Gaihenlung Kamei.
