Nagaland Forest team shines at 28th All India Forest Sports Meet

DIMAPUR, NOV 16 (NPN)

The Nagaland Forest Department contingent put up a commendable performance at the 28th All India Forest Sports Meet (AIFSM) 2025 held in Dehradun, Uttarakhand, from November 12 to 16. The national-level event witnessed participation of 3,390 sportspersons from 42 teams, including 708 women representing 30 states, six Union Territories and six central teams.
Nagaland’s 11-member team competed in 13 sporting events across various categories. The medal tally was opened by PCCF & HoFF Vedpal Singh, who clinched three medals in shooting—silver in Men Senior Veteran 50m prone, silver in Men Senior Veteran 50m, and bronze in Men Veteran 50m prone. Adding to the success, Bendanginla secured a bronze medal in Badminton Women Veteran Singles, while Sedevizo Keretsu won bronze in Power Lifting.
Beyond the five medals, the team displayed strong performances in other disciplines. Kevichukho Kire advanced to the semi-finals in table tennis, while L. Henmoi Konyak and Subenthung M. Tungoe impressed in carrom men’s singles and doubles against tough opponents from other states.
This marks Nagaland Forest Department’s third year of participation since the revival of its involvement in the meet after nearly 15 years. The contingent was led by PCCF & HoFF, Vedpal Singh, as Chief de Mission, with DCF, Prabhat Kumar, serving as nodal officer, and ACF, Vivika A. Sema, as team manager.
