Nagaland Legal & human rights campaign at Mon

DIMAPUR

A one-day Legal & Human Rights Campaign jointly organized by the Nagaland State Human Rights Commission (NSHRC) and District Level Services Authority Mon, in collaboration with Konyak Student’s’ Union was held on November 18, at Konyak Union Office Hall. The programme was graced by chairperson of Nagaland State Human Rights Commission (NSHRC), Justice Songkhupchung Serto as chief guest.
Addressing the gathering, Serto pointed out that the Universal Declaration of Human Rights is the most influential document, he encouraged all tribes in Nagaland to translate it into their own languages for better understanding.
Serto stated that the Human Rights Commission empowers citizens to recognize and defend their fundamental rights, holding public authorities accountable for violations and fostering a society that values human dignity and equality. He urged the gathering to make use of the office, know their rights, and fight for justice.
Deputy Legal Aid Defence Counsel, DLSA Mon Advocate Moba Konyak, spoke on “Right to Health & Education as human Rights”, while “Protection of Human Rights Act” was explained by R. Nzanbemo Lotha, Member of NSHRC.
