The inaugural programme of the seven-day training for Civil Defence (CD) Wardens and Volunteers was held on Tuesday at the Town Hall, with Deputy Commissioner of Mokokchung and CD Controller, Ajit Kumar Varma, as the special guest.
In his address, Ajit Kumar emphasized that the training aims to prepare community first responders during natural calamities and unforeseen crises to save lives. He urged trainees to pay close attention to the trainers as they demonstrated life-saving techniques with dedication and passion.
Highlighting the importance of service, Kumar noted that participation in the State Disaster Response Force (SDRF) carries a social obligation and moral responsibility to humanity. He added that volunteering for SDRF is a service to the nation in mitigating crises.
Delivering a brief speech, HQ CD & SDRF/ CD Deputy Controller, Lanutemjem, informed that the training programme will cover 360 civil cadres over seven days, including 150 participants from Mokokchung, 120 from Mangkolemba, and 40 from Tuli.
