Nagaland C.L. John mourns demise of Dr. K. Kath

DIMAPUR

Minister for Environment, Forest & Climate Change and Village Guards, C.L. John, has expressed deep sorrow over the passing of former minister Dr. K. Kath, describing him as a sincere, upright and visionary leader whose contributions to Nagaland’s political and social landscape will be remembered with respect.
In a condolence message, CL John recalled Dr. Kath’s political journey which began in 1987 and his election to the 7th Nagaland Legislative Assembly in 1989 as a Naga People’s Council (NPC) candidate from the 12th Tseminyu Assembly Constituency. He noted that Dr. Kath served in various capacities under the Nagaland Legislative Assembly and played a significant role in strengthening regional politics and civil society.
Dr. Kath also served as general secretary of the Naga People’s Front (NPF) till 2008 and remained a life member of the party until his demise. CL John described him as a competent public leader known for his integrity, accountability and wisdom, and stated that his passing leaves a deep void, especially for the Rengma community and the Nagas at large. Conveying heartfelt condolences to the bereaved family, CL John prayed that Almighty God grant peace and eternal rest to the departed soul and provide comfort to the family during this hour of grief.
