Nagaland Organising Committee meets AIFF officials ahead of Dr. T Ao Jr Girls C’ship

DIMAPUR, NOV 19 (NPN)

The Organising Committee of the Dr. Talimeren Ao Junior Girls National Football Championship 2025 (Tier-2) convened a coordination meeting on Wednesday with officials from the All India Football Federation (AIFF) to review preparations for the tournament scheduled to commence on November 22 at the Chümoukedima Football Stadium.
The meeting focused on key operational aspects including venue readiness, team arrangements, match logistics, accommodation, medical support, technical requirements and event protocols. Both sides acknowledged the progress made so far and reaffirmed their commitment to ensuring the smooth conduct of the national-level championship, held in honour of Dr. Talimeren Ao, India’s first Olympic football captain and a celebrated sporting icon of Nagaland.
Updates were shared on the comprehensive arrangements undertaken by the Government of Nagaland through its sub-committees, covering security, transportation, hospitality, media management, ceremonial programmes and community engagement. AIFF officials expressed appreciation for the state’s efforts and provided guidance to align preparations with national standards for age-group tournaments.
Technical requirements such as officiating support, match scheduling, equipment and on-field operations were also reviewed. AIFF assured full cooperation and technical assistance throughout the championship, while both sides emphasised the importance of maintaining high-quality facilities and fostering a positive environment for young players from across the country.
With 13 teams set to participate, the Organising Committee reiterated Nagaland’s readiness to host the event for the first time, highlighting the state’s enthusiasm to welcome all delegations. The Committee also extended gratitude to AIFF for entrusting Nagaland with the responsibility of hosting a tournament that promotes women’s football and celebrates the enduring legacy of Dr. Talimeren Ao.
The Organising Committee and AIFF will continue close coordination in the days leading up to the opening ceremony to ensure the successful execution of the championship.
