Despite the win, neither side managed to qualify for the knockout stage, underscoring the competitiveness of this year’s tournament.
The contest unfolded with sharp transitions and high intensity, keeping spectators engaged throughout. Mizoram struck first in the 30th minute when Loisy (18) produced a composed finish to hand her team a 1–0 lead at halftime.
Madhya Pradesh responded immediately after the restart, with Khushi Parte (16) capitalizing on a defensive lapse to equalize in the 46th minute. However, Mizoram regained the advantage just three minutes later through Mawipuii (11), whose powerful strike made it 2–1.
The battle remained evenly poised as Komal Saket (9) converted in the 59th minute to level the score at 2–2. Mizoram, however, showed greater determination in the final stages. Mawipuii netted her second goal in the 74th minute to restore the lead, before Nunpuii (7) sealed the result with a decisive strike in the 81st minute.
The 4–2 triumph reflected Mizoram’s attacking strength and resilience, while Madhya Pradesh showcased commendable fighting spirit despite the defeat. Both teams, though unable to progress further, earned applause for delivering one of the most engaging fixtures of the group stage.
