Nagaland DC Kma directives on roadside encroachments

DIMAPUR

Deputy Commissioner Kohima, B. Henok Buchem, has directed the immediate removal of roadside encroachments across Kohima city, following instructions from the State Government conveyed through the Urban Development Department via an order dated November 18, 2025.
According to the DC’s order, construction materials, off-road vehicles, unhygienic latrines, pig sties, and other similar structures placed along roadsides have encroached upon the National Highway Right-of-Way (ROW) and adjoining areas. Such encroachments, it stated, not only obstruct the ROW but also compromise road safety, pose health hazards, and contribute to environmental degradation.
All concerned individuals, households, and establishments have been instructed to remove these encroachments immediately.
