Nagaland NDPP–NPF merger forwelfare of Nagas: Zhaleo

Advisor of Urban Development & Municipal Affairs, Zhaleo Rio, on Friday explained that the merger of the Nationalist Democratic Progressive Party (NDPP) and Naga People’s Front (NPF) was carried out on an issue-based approach for the welfare of the Nagas.
Speaking at the 5th Ghaspani-II Assembly Constituency Get Together Annual Picnic-cum-Meeting at Ruzaphema, Zhaleo expressed happiness over the accommodative nature of party workers and supporters during the minor reshuffle that followed the merger. He said sincere efforts were underway to bring everyone on board the NPF family.
Pointing out that NPF was the oldest regional political party in the entire Northeast, Zhaleo said it was “an honour to be part and parcel of the NPF Party that works for the greater cause of the Nagas.”
He assured that he would extend all necessary support and assistance to the people of his constituency through various governmental agencies and departmental programmes.
He urged party workers and supporters to work with dedication and commitment to strengthen the party at all levels.
Deliberations were also held with party leaders from division and assembly constituency levels on strengthening the party. Speakers endorsed the NDPP–NPF merger, appreciated Zhaleo Rio for his pro-developmental approach, and pledged to strengthen his leadership with sincerity and commitment.
The meeting adopted three resolutions: welcoming and supporting the merger between NDPP and NPF, viewing it as a positive step towards strengthening regional unity, ensuring political stability, and advancing the collective aspirations of the Naga people.
Reaffirmed leadership commitment and unwavering support to Chief Minister Dr. Neiphiu Rio and expressed full confidence in advisor Zhaleo Rio, to lead the 5th Ghaspani-II Assembly Constituency towards sustainable progress and development.
Appealed to the leaders and members, who had departed from the party to return and reaffirm their commitment to strengthen NPF leadership under Chief Minister Dr. Neiphiu Rio. Earlier, the meeting was chaired by NPF 5th Ghaspani-II A/C president, Thepfuselie Makritsu.
