Livingstone Foundation International (LFI), Green Lawn, Dimapur, marked the Christmas season with a vibrant celebration as it hosted The Stonites Christmas Cantata on Friday. The musical drama, organised by LFI and performed by the Christian Leader Fellowship as part of the Northeast Cantata Tour, highlighted the message of Christ’s birth through music, choreography, and theatrical storytelling.
The campus came alive with festive cheer as students, performers, and visitors enjoyed a blend of musical presentations, creative dances, and lively food stalls that added colour to the celebration.
Delivering the Christmas message, Director of Northeast CLF and Northeast Cantata Rev. Udayaraj Paundel said the Cantata reflects the essence of Christ’s birth and the purpose behind it. He explained that humanity’s separation from God due to sin led to the coming of Jesus Christ, who, he said, was born to redeem mankind.
“Christmas may be celebrated in many forms, but at its heart, it commemorates the birth of Christ, who came to take away sin. Born humbly in a manger and visited by wise men who found peace in Him, Jesus came to set sinners free,” he said, emphasising salvation through faith in Christ.
The festive showcase also featured lantern lighting and performances by the LFI Band, Grade XI (Humanities), Toshirenla, and a classical fusion dance by the LFI dance club. Young children presented a traditional attire parade, while the LFI creative club staged a choreography performance.
The programme was chaired by Himakshi, Yumjung, Olemnaro, and Chinjem. An invocation was offered by a representative from Trinity Theological College, Thahekhu Village, followed by a message from Associate Professor, Department of Counselling Dr. James Inaho Swu. LFI Chairman Dr. Andrew Ahoto delivered the welcome address.
