Nagaland: ‘Lt Gen.’ Shadang appointed Longvibu

‘Lt Gen.’ Honreishang Shadang, MSM, MC has assumed charge as the new commander-in-chief (Longvibu) of the Naga Army following a formal handing and taking over ceremony held at GHQ Church on November 30.
The programme was presided over by ‘keya kilonser’ Zeneituo James Pienyu in the presence of dignitaries and army officers, while pastor Diginbou offered the invocation and prayer of submission stated a press note issued by ‘brig’ Hetoshe Achumi MSM.
The Naga Army also bid farewell to outgoing Longvibu, ‘gen.’ Ningkhan Shimray, MC, VC who retired after 45 years of service.
The note said Ningkhan Shimray, was regarded as one of the organisation’s most respected commanders, who led the Naga Army as Longvibu for the past eight years. Nigkhan was accorded a grand military guard of honour as he walked past the red carpet during the ceremony, the note added.
