2nd Nagaland Cross Country Championships to be held on Dec 18

KOHIMA, DEC 1 (NPN)

The Nagaland Athletics Association (NAA) has announced that the 2nd Nagaland Cross Country Championships 2025 will be held on December 18 at Ruovi’s The Palm, Model Village 5th Mile, Chumoukedima.
The championship, organized under the rules of the Athletics Federation of India (AFI), is aimed at promoting long-distance running, identifying emerging talent, and selecting athletes to represent Nagaland at the upcoming 60th National Cross Country Championships 2026.
The competition will feature races across multiple age groups: Men & Women – 10 km; Under-20 Boys – 8 km/Girls – 6 km; Under-18 Boys – 6 km/Girls – 4 km; Under-16 Boys & Girls – 2 km.
Entries must be submitted online by December 12, 2025. Entry fees – Rs. 300 for senior athletes, Rs. 200 for juniors. Athletes must be registered under AFI and provide AFI-UID and Aadhaar Card for verification. Age reckoning for juniors will be as of January 24, 2026, with strict adherence to age-group participation. Athletes below 14 years of age as on January 24, 2026 will not be eligible.
For age brackets, U20: Born between January 25, 2006 – January 24, 2008; U18: Born between January 25, 2008 – January 24, 2010; U16: Born between January 25, 2010 – January 24, 2012.
Verification of age and documents, along with bib distribution, will take place on December 17, 2025 at the venue from 12 PM to 2 PM.
Boarding and lodging arrangements must be made by participants themselves. Athletes with promising performances will be selected to represent Nagaland at the national championships. Participation is voluntary, and athletes will compete at their own risk.
