Nagaland: Dr. T. Ao Junior Girls National: Assam rout Chandigarh 8–0

The match number 14 of the Dr. T. Ao Junior Girls National Football Championship witnessed Assam registering a resounding 8–0 victory over Chandigarh on Tuesday at Chumoukedima Football Stadium, where more than 500 spectators gathered to witness the encounter.
Beginning the match on a dominating mode, an early error from the Chandigarh goalkeeper gifted Assam their breakthrough, with Divia Tanti (10) calmly slotting home in the 7th minute.
Barely two minutes later, Sayasree Sangma (11) doubled the advantage after capitalizing on a defensive lapse.
Maintaining relentless pressure, Assam kept the ball deep inside Chandigarh’s half, launching multiple shots on target. Their dominance was rewarded again in the 23rd minute, when Mary (7) produced a brilliant solo effort to extend the lead to 3–0.
Assam came close to increasing their tally further, but Chandigarh’s goalkeeper and defenders made several crucial goal-line clearances. However, another goalkeeping error in the 34th minute allowed Lokhi (12) to tap in Assam’s fourth.
Chandigarh’s first notable attempt came in the 40th minute, but Assam’s defence quickly shut down any danger.
In stoppage time, Assam had a goal disallowed for offside, but moments later Mary (7) struck again to make it 5–0 before the break.
Assam resumed the second half with the same attacking intent. Their pressure paid off early when Sayasree (11) netted her second of the match in the 57th minute, pushing the scoreline to 6–0.
In the 79th minute, Divia (10) unleashed a spectacular long-range strike to make it 7–0, while four minutes later, Mary (7) completed her hat-trick with another clinical finish, sealing Assam’s emphatic 8–0 victory.
