Nagaland: Meeting discusses road construction between Doyang to Mangmetong

A joint consultative meeting of the stakeholders comprising various villages from Mokokchung and Wokha districts was held today at the conference hall of NEEPCO DHEP Doyang Wokha.
The meeting deliberated at length regarding the construction of road from Doyang to Mangmetong which is a scheme under PMGSY. At the meeting, the members deliberated on the expiry of the timeline of completion of 18 months and subsequent extension of the scheme upto March 31, 2026.
The meeting also deliberated on the progress of the work where even earth work was still yet to be completed despite the extension. After thorough deliberation, the contractor of the scheme LPSS INFRA made an undertaking to speed up the work.
The undertaking is as follows: Commencement of earth work from T-01 (Doyang) to Chubi Bridge by December 15, 2025, other activities comprising of Culverts, B/wall, R/wall and drainage shall commence simultaneously, all activities mentioned above shall progress in planned order and we shall ensure deployment of adequate plant/machinery| equipments and man power to obtain maximum progress by March 31, 2026.
The meeting was attended by representatives of Lotha Middle Range Public Organization, Doyang Land Owners Association, Okotso and Yonchucho village councils, Ongpangkong Mungdang, Mangmetong village council.
Besides representatives from the department (PMGSY) and the concerned contractor attended the meeting.
Meanwhile, the Ongpangkong Mungdang, in the meeting has cautioned that failure to complete the work by the March 31, 2026, the Mungdang will seek the personal intervention of the chief minister or governor of Nagaland, stating that they just want the road to be motorable as it is one of the vital road links for many districts. The meeting concluded with the contractor signing the undertaking.
