Nagaland: Free blood donation camp held at Kisama

The Voluntary Blood Donors Association Nagaland, in collaboration with the Tourism Department,Nagaland and supported by HDFC Bank, Imagi Nation, ETE Coffee, 8 & 8 Café, Imprint Press, NAC, NSACS, NSBTC, Block Centre NHAK and TA Naga Regiment, conducted a free blood donation camp on December 5 at Naga Heritage Village, Kisama, Kohima.
According to DIPR report, additional director of Tourism, T. Kakihe Sumi, appreciated the Association and expressed gratitude to the Territorial Army personnel and donors always being coming forward during the blood donation camp. He said such activities bring happiness to people, especially to donors, and lauded the Association’s care, service, compassion and humility.
Company Commandant of 164 TA Naga Regiment, Major Issac Maben, congratulated the Association for organizing the camp where his personnel could donate blood for a cause. He noted that the battalion, comprising 18 tribes, often faced difficulties donating blood to families and communities due to distance, but the camp enabled them to contribute. He assured support for future initiatives.
Commandant of 13th Assam Regiment, Col. Manoj, said his battalion was always ready to donate blood to support the people of Nagaland. He described blood donation as a noble act of serving humanity, complimented the organizers for conducting the camp annually, and expressed hope for its growth. He also shared plans to hold similar camps at their unit location.
In his keynote address, Voluntary Blood Donors Association Nagaland, Chairman, Ainato Yeptho, highlighted that this was the 3rd edition of the camp at Kisama, creating a movement for those in need of blood. He noted that the Association has around 1,500 registered members through its app ‘Nagaland Blood Donors’.
A total of 23 donors participated in the Camp.
