Secretary, Ministry of Electronics & Information Technology (MeitY), S. Krishnan on Sunday expressed strong appreciation for Nagaland’s digital initiatives and assured full Central support to strengthen State’s IT infrastructure. He said this during a review meeting with advisor for IT & Communication, Economics & Statistics and Evaluation, H. Sethrongkyu Sangtam, at Hotel Vivor, Kohima.
The meeting focused on Nagaland’s digital transformation efforts, progress of ongoing ICT projects, capacity-building requirements, and challenges in delivering technology-driven governance across the State. Both sides discussed the need for strengthening core digital infrastructure and ensuring that government services become more accessible, efficient and secure.
Sethrongkyu highlighted several flagship initiatives proposed by the State government to build a resilient and future-ready governance framework. These included the AI-powered State Data Centre, which aims to serve as a central facility for hosting critical government applications and enabling data-driven decision-making across departments.
He also presented the State Cyber Security Operations Centre, designed to safeguard government digital assets through enhanced monitoring and coordinated incident response mechanisms. The advisor further outlined NagaChain, a blockchain-based immutable identity ledger intended to provide a secure and inclusive digital identity framework for the people of Nagaland, enabling transparent and tamper-proof service delivery.
Krishnan commended the state government for its proactive and innovative initiatives in the IT sector. He noted that the projects aligned with national objectives on cyber security, data governance and digital identity, and highlighted the importance of sustained Centre–State coordination for the successful rollout of such transformative programmes.
Krishnan assured full support to Nagaland in strengthening its IT infrastructure and advancing the next generation of strategic technology initiatives envisioned by the State.
