Staff reporter

The Hornbill Music Festival – Extension Dimapur edition lit up the Town Hall on Monday afternoon with a vibrant showcase of local talent, community spirit and diverse musical performances. Organized by TaFMA in collaboration with district authorities, the event drew enthusiastic audiences who gathered to enjoy an evening of music, culture and youthful creativity.
The programme was hosted by Liilo Zhimomi, who kept the momentum lively as artistes and bands took to the stage one after another. Dimapur Deputy Commissioner Dr. Tinojongshi Chang graced the event as the special guest.
In his address, Dr. Chang thanked the organisers and TaFMA Demobu Unit for extending the Hornbill celebration to Dimapur, calling it a meaningful platform for young artistes. He highlighted the unifying power of music and encouraged performers to continue nurturing their talents. Expressing personal joy, he shared that although he could not attend his daughter’s performance at Kisama, witnessing the young talents in Dimapur brought the same fulfilment.
One of the highlights of the evening was the performance by Lukumla, the youngest artiste of the festival, who is just four years old. Her appearance drew warm applause and became a memorable moment for the audience.
The festival featured a strong lineup of performers, including: Tonokali, Athrong, REVAMPX Band, Lukumla, Gideon and The Cousins Band, Alovili Sumi, Thupusalu, Azaro Band and Kinokali

Dr. Chang further assured that the district administration would work closely with TaFMA in future editions to create even larger platforms for artistes from the district. “Next year, we will collaborate to provide an even better stage for everyone to perform,” he said.
