As part of the Hornbill Festival 2025, the Governments of Nagaland and Arunachal Pradesh convened a roundtable meeting at the Handloom & Craft Pavilion, Naga Heritage Village, Kisama. According to a DIPR report, the session aimed to strengthen inter state partnership, explore avenues for sustained collaboration, and foster dialogue on cross border cooperation, market access, and enterprise development between the two Northeastern states.
The engagement highlighted shared opportunities in trade, tourism, music, youth and sports development, art and culture, and agriculture and allied knowledge exchange. As state partner, Arunachal Pradesh showcased its products at the Hornbill Festival, presenting its cultural heritage and entrepreneurial initiatives.
The pavilion featured GI based handicrafts and textiles, homemade pickles, traditional rice wine and beverages, tea and wellness products, candles, and fragrance items, offering a vibrant display of the state’s cultural richness and entrepreneurial capability.
Discussions emphasized strengthening inter state value chains, facilitating B2B and B2G linkages, and supporting artisans and entrepreneurs through collaborations, knowledge exchange, and institutional partnerships.
Both states reiterated their commitment to deepening cooperation to unlock sustainable economic opportunities and collectively position the Northeast as a competitive and culturally distinctive investment destination.
The meeting formed part of ongoing efforts to leverage the Hornbill Festival as a platform not only for cultural celebration but also for economic collaboration and enterprise promotion. A partnership agreement was signed, covering cooperation in music, tourism, art and culture, industries and commerce, youth and sports, and agriculture and allied sectors, establishing a framework for joint initiatives and knowledge sharing.
