As a concerned citizen of Nagaland, I write with a burdened heart and a deep, prayerful longing for the healing of our land. Our people are precious. Our children are a gift. Our families are the backbone of our society. Yet today, alcohol abuse is silently wounding homes, stealing destinies, and weakening the moral foundation that once held our State strong.
With compassion and sincere concern, I place a question before our Government and the people of Nagaland:
If God has entrusted us with the responsibility to protect life, dignity, and the next generation, should we not also ensure the faithful enforcement of the NLTP Act, a law meant for the welfare of the people?
This is not a political demand—it is a cry for healing.
The Bible speaks with both tenderness and truth:
“Deliver those who are being taken away to death; hold back those stumbling to the slaughter.” – Proverbs 24:11
“Speak up for those who cannot speak for themselves… defend the rights of the poor and needy.” – Proverbs 31:8–9
“Wine is a mocker… and whoever is led astray is not wise.” – Proverbs 20:1
These verses remind us that protecting our people from harm is an act of love, mercy, and righteousness.
I write with no anger in my heart—only tears for the youth who are falling into addiction, compassion for parents who cry in silence, and hope for a Nagaland where homes are safe, children flourish, and every life is valued.
With humility and deep respect, I appeal to the Government of Nagaland:
Please enforce the NLTP Act with sincerity, consistency, and moral courage.
Let enforcement be not merely legal, but compassionate—aimed at healing, restoring, and protecting.
I also appeal to tribal bodies, civil society, student unions, women groups, churches, and elders:
Let us stand together—not in judgment, but in love.
Let us be the voice for those who cannot speak, the strength for those who have fallen, and the light for those struggling in darkness.
Our land is at a crossroads. And the choices we make today will shape the next generation.
May wisdom guide our leaders.
May courage guide our actions.
May compassion guide our hearts.
We humbly request Nagaland Post to publish this Press Release for the greater good and awakening of our society.
