Hornbill Festival a symbol of India’s cultural richness: PM

DIMAPUR, DEC 14 (NPN)

Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Sunday lauded Nagaland’s Hornbill Festival as a celebration of India’s cultural brilliance and the Northeast’s growing confidence.
Sharing an article by Union Minister Jyotiraditya M. Scindia on X, Modi said the festival reflected the vibrancy of tribal heritage and the convergence of ancient traditions with contemporary expression. He remarked that the Northeast today represents the face of a new, confident India.
The Prime Minister observed that Nagaland does not merely host a festival but embodies celebration itself, truly justifying its description as the “Land of Festivals.”
Modi further noted that India’s progress would be complete only when the Northeast shines, underscoring the region’s importance in the country’s cultural and national narrative.
