Nagaland: PWUK holds general session; marks 28th year

DIMAPUR

Phekmi Welfare Union Kohima (PWUK) held its general session-cum-28th year celebration on December 13 at Naga Heritage Village, Kisama, with Kuzholuzo (Azo) Nienu, MLA, as the speaker.
Addressing the gathering, Azo called upon the people to uphold the spirit of oneness as one family. “We are one family,” he said, urging the members to love and support one another for posterity. He further exhorted the people to commit themselves to the Lord, put God first in all things, and stand by the truth even if standing alone.
Chakhesang Public Organization (CPO) president Veziihii Keyho and Phek Village Council chairman Chivozo Soho also delivered exhortations.
PWUK president Siirhoneyi Soho informed that the union currently has 451 registered members. The union also felicitated successful NPSC candidates and students with outstanding achievements during 2024–25. For the new tenure 2026–27, Shevoduyi Venuh and Rukulu Chizo were announced as the new president and general secretary respectively, along with other office bearers.
The programme was chaired by Kuvehii Soho, while the act of blessing for the new office bearers was pronounced by Rev. Velavoyi Keyho, pastor of Phezoucha Nagamese Baptist Church.
