The Lotha Region of the Naga National Council/Federal Government of Nagaland (NNC/FGN), under the leadership of Kedahge Zhopra Vero, has issued a clarification regarding the recent news report on the arrest of Mathungo Ovung, (71), SS Deputy Kilonser, NNC/FGN, on charges of forceful extortion in Kohima on December 8. In a statement issued by Lichio Kikon, Kilonser of Law & Justice, FGN, the region clarified that Ovung is not associated with the Zhopra Vero-led NNC/FGN, Lotha Region. The statement described the accused as a habitual offender and dissociated the organisation from his actions. NNC/FGN Lotha Region further warned that any individuals or imposters attempting to tarnish the age-old image of the NNC/FGN would be dealt with strictly and sternly.
