Nagaland: Gadkari to attend NCSU Golden Jubilee

Union minister of Road Transport & Highways, Nitin Gadkari will grace the Golden Jubilee celebration of Nagaland Contractors’ & Suppliers’ Union (NCSU) in the early part of 2026.
This was announced by NCSU president, Pele Khezhie, during the Advent Christmas-cum-50 Years of NCSU Thanksgiving & Best Traffic Awards 2025 held at Pele Khezhie Stadium, Riiziezou D’Khel, Kohima Village on December 13.
Calling upon members to remain united and put concerted effort towards the successful celebration of the upcoming jubilee, Khezhie said there was little worth naming in Nagaland’s industrial activities except construction works, and urged all to support NCSU in carrying forward developmental activities in the state. He also extended Christmas and New Year greetings to the people of Nagaland.
Complimenting NCSU for attaining 50 years, Kohima superintendent of police (SP) Krodi Rhetso lauded its contribution and service to the people. He urged the union to involve local engineers, architects and youth in construction activities to boost the local economy. Rhetso also appreciated NCSU for instituting the Best Traffic Award as a yearly affair, describing it as a morale boost for traffic personnel.
Rev. Velavoyi Keyho, pastor of Phezoucha Nagamese Baptist Church, graced the event as speaker and urged the people to draw closer to God and spread the message of care, love and peace during Christmas. “Whatever you do, put God first,” he said.
Meanwhile, Khrievotuo-ii Zumvü of North Traffic Control and Nuseta Medeo of South Traffic Control, Kohima, were conferred with the Best Traffic Awards 2025 in female and male categories respectively.
The programme was chaired by NCSU vice president, K.L. Setuo Rutsa, while welcome address was delivered by NCSU secretary, Tseibu Khesoh. A special number was presented by Inato Assume. Invocation and benediction were pronounced by NCSU advisor, T. Yanger Imchen and S.K. Rengma respectively. Vote of thanks was proposed by Hoshito Assume.
